Oldies, and haven't work on it for a while (ongoing-ies?)...

Original Drawings for piece directly below.

So as my dear friends know I like to go to the MET more often than most people, I feel like it feeds my artwork so sometimes I itch to go.  Today was one of those days and I thought I'd share two of my favorite Byzantine pieces, both carved of ivory and both have inspired creating.

This piece or the upper right hand portion specifically inspired my first sawing silver project in a class I took about 2 years ago at a private jewelry studio in Brooklyn.  I started looking at my silver pieces a few nights ago and I have decided (breath) I can finish this piece.  It has been waiting long enough and can be like my $ sign necklace or show piece.  I like to finish things I've started...

Many of you will recognize this Ucello ring of mine, I wanted to share with you a (finally) clear picture of the object I was inspired by.
